According to the report generated by Economics Times, Apple is ready to compete with mid-range smartphone market by introducing an iPhone 4 8GB variant in India for just Rs 15,000 under a buyback scheme through which you can exchange any of your old smartphone which is currently in working condition. Till now, we don’t have any list regarding the smartphones which can be exchanged but soon we will report the list too.
Apple iPhone 4 India
The point which is still under consideration is whether this iPhone 4 will land running iOS 7 or iOS 6 out of the box because we have already seen that iOS 7 is although officially compatible with iPhone 4 but users are having lot of complains. The user interface becomes a bit laggy, much lag time in between the apps too, sudden crashing of apps etc.
The US company, pressing hard to raise its market share in India, will price the device at around 15,000 through buyback and EMI schemes compared with its old retail price of Rs 26,500, Apple’s four top trade partners in India said requesting anonymity due to confidentiality clauses. The model launched three years ago has been succeeded by the 4S, 5, 5c and 5s, the last of which starts at Rs 53,500.
Another senior executive with a leading cellphone retail chain said Apple’s two distributors, Redington and Ingram Micro, have sounded the trade out about a big relaunch of the iPhone4 8GB model as early as next week so that the company can take advantage of a Republic Day sales bump.
